About Me

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. I received my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Oklahoma State University. I have received further training in EMDR therapy for trauma. I became a counselor because counseling changed my life as a client. I truly believe that we do the best we can until we know differently. It is my goal to accept clients exactly as they are and join them in their journey to being who they want to be. Akin to the Hundred Acre Woods in the classic story of Winnie The Pooh, it is my goal to provide a safe environment for the exploration of self.

FAQs

Do I accept insurance?

Yes! I accept BCBS, Healthchoice, and United Healthcare plans.

What is my cancellation policy?

I have a 24-cancellation policy. Appointments canceled with less notice will incur the full session fee.

I have this policy to create space for other clients, or members of the community, to use the time we had previously set aside.

What if I am not a good fit for you?

This does happen! I use the first session as a way for my clients to get to know me and decide if it is a good fit. The most important predictor of change is a good therapeutic relationship. If I am not a good fit, I will provide referrals for you.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR therapy is an evidenced-based treatment for trauma and overall “stuckness”. Using bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps process negative cognitions as well as traumatic or painful memories from our past.
